Todd Walker > Mark Bellhorn > Vinny Castilla > Sean Burroughs
I don't want Burroughs back, that's for sure. I'd much rather have Walker than Burroughs. I know some of you won't agree with that opinion, but it's just the way it is.

desperation .........lol..........Walker was desperation.......hoping a guy can play out of position is desperation
And wanting Sean Burroughs back isn't? You're wanting to bring back Burroughs because you "hope" Merv can turn his hitting around? Then, when that fails, we'll be right back where we started with Vinny, decent defense and no offense.

No....I suggested Burroughs
1. he's free
2. he can field
3. there is a shot he can still hit.....long shot yes, but a shot nonetheless
and I've never wanted him back........just suggested it since money seems to be our issue
and defense is needed right now, in case you haven't been watching....offense as well, but if we can't have one, lets have the other

If you read the article it also says the Padres had the first crack at Liriano. Both teams could be sitting mighty pretty on top of the West with his arm.The Padres are looking to trade for a hitter before the September roster expansion.
I'm undecided as to whether Burroughs part 2 would be an improvement.
All we'd be doing is exchanging our defensive hole at third base for an offensive hole at third base.
Basically, as I said, Vinny with less home run potential.

I'm unsure also........but clearly something needs to be tried, done, upgraded, applied.......insert whatever word you need.......but right now he's free, and if money is the issue, then a free shot is pretty good even if he flops.......and IMO he can't be much worse offensivley that what's currently being run out there...
So if he's an upgrade on defense, then it's a win win....but either way, it wont cost much to take a look
I wouldn't be against bringing Sean back to a minor league deal, while still trying to acquire someone else....having him as another fallback option to go along with Leone.

you bet....... since we dont' have a 3bag evidently in our farm.....he would at least fill that role....and then they can try to untwist his head....and get him back on track.......what else does he have to do
We don't have a 3rd baseman in our farm system? Last time I checked, Justin Leone was listed as a 3rd baseman. We've seen what Burroughs can do, he was given a shot, I think it's time Leone is given his chance.Originally Posted by padrefanforever

There was a shot that Walker could play 3rd too, but you still didn't like that move. Burroughs is not the answer. Do I think Leone would be, I don't know, but I would like him to get a shot at it. He showed in Spring Training that he could hit with the best of them, I think the Padres would have nothing to lose by bringing him up.Originally Posted by padrefanforever
