    did you actually watch it?

    I was following via gameday.

Any rate, I think i'm going to stop responding to these threads until something fresh comes up, we currently have something like 5 threads where we're debating the same exact thing, saying the same things over and over.

Nope......just listening to the game live, and when San Diego commentators say that a play should have been scored an error, and it's on a Padre...you can be pretty sure they are telling the truth....why would they wish errors on their own guys.... they wouldn't of course

i've seen Matt Vasgersian argue something should be an error on a Padre, and then get pissy because now that it's not ruled an error the would-be run would've been charged to the pitcher, affecting his ERA (vice being an unearned run)

That said, the radio commentators are more reliable than me looking at a box score, I was just pointing that out.

Matt Vasguersion isn't Jerry Coleman or Ted Leitner..... Matty can be a slight homer at times, with Mutt I think you'd agree....while Leitner's pride usually wont allow him to be that way....he would rather call it the way it is, than be called a homer or anything else.

...and since it wasn't on TV, you know it wasn't Matt V.

contrary to popular belief Mudd is not a homer, and neither is Matt.

"Cheerleaders"? Yeah, they won't hold back in displaying their joy when the Padres do something good, or their disdain when they don't.

But they are fair, like when the Padres get away with something (Safe on a bad call) they're always quick to point out that we got away with it.

And, I have mad respect for Jerry Coleman, but the guy oft confuses an infield pop up with a home run....

I agree......they do call a pretty fair game, but IMO they can be homer's also.......call it cheerleading if you want.....there are times when I think they can be homers

...and I can't agree more about Coleman...... "..and he slides into 2nd with a stand up double..." " ...there's a deep drive, way back to the wall, at the wall, and the SS is under it for the out..."

I love the guy, but it's time for him to get off the air, and take even more of a 3rd party than he does....he's doing less and less, and should do even less

    Definite upgrade defensively.

We'd basically have Vinny back with even less HR power.
