By comparison, Braun, 26.. 8-9-10-7-5 out of 9-10-10-7-6. Makes only 6.2mill till 2016. Clearly this is a guy you so desperately want to dump.

    Great help you are.
I hate to tell you that speed and defense are not huge deal breakers. Those are the categories you are using to discount this player? Come on now KoZ. In terms of Beckham, if he makes a solid number two guy there is no need for him to have power.

If you have read Moneyball, Beane has a philosophy that base stealing is actually rather pointless. OBP in his opinion is a huge key to success.

So the deal may not be completely even...but it is by no means unfair.

Yeah...I do. Ryan Braun is a 26 year old stud that is signed cheap for the next 6 years. That alone has value. Not to mention he's one of the better rated players in the league, and he is only 26. If he was 30, then this would be a whole different situation, but he isn't, he is only 26, and he has great ratings. Like I said earlier, I'm surprised this traded wasn't a quick vote down. I was shocked that GF thinks it's fair, and I'm surprised that others think it's good enough to pass. I just don't see this deal being anything except completely unfair.

Because of Braun's cheap contract and age combined with Flowers' age/underdevelopment I'm going to say Fail here.

I don't think it's as "obvious" of a fail as some are making it out to be, but those are the deciding factors for me.

Here's where I disagree Crazy. I don't think that these deals need to be "good enough to pass". They just have to NOT be "bad enough to fail". Do I think this trade was lopsided, yes. Do I think it was lopsided badly enough to fail, I was on the fence, but decided that it wasn't bad enough to fail it. Obviously, we all have opinions, and that's why we have a TC instead of commish rules. So, the deal fails, it's all good.

Can't wait for a crappy 4 star prospect to be added.
