Chris Chelios signs with Atlanta Thrashers, although he has to clear waivers first before going to the NHL, he's stuck in the AHL for now

Woah, missed the edit. Chelios is back? NHL 10 needs to update their rosters if he makes it back, I need Chelios, even if it is just for old times sake.

Puck Daddy's 2010 NHL Trade Deadline Report Cards - Puck Daddy - NHL Blog - Yahoo! Sports
Of course, it's also Edmonton, which means that GM Steve Tambellini was going to get torched. Said Edmonton Journal blogger Dave Staples: "So you trade Grebeshkov, then bring a Grebeshkov-alike back in trade for Visnovsky." From The Copper & Blue:

So he calls Anaheim. "Hey," he says. "You guys were asking about Lubomir Visnovsky(notes) earlier? Well, I think maybe we could make this work."

Bob Murray, on the other end, is nobody's fool. He aims high and works his way down. "So how about Ryan Whitney?" says Bob. "He's younger, bigger, and he makes less." He's also worse. Considerably worse. Epically worse.

Steve Tambellini glances at the clock. It's 12:45, Mountain Standard Time. He knows that if he doesn't pull the trigger on something his press conference will be awkward, or it would be if Edmonton's hockey media wasn't competing to get him into the sack. "Throw in a sixth-round pick," Tambellini says.

Bob Murray spits out his coffee. And we're the ones who get burned.

Getting the Oilers to take on Whitney's contract was robbery by itself. Bob Murray should have known there was a reason the Pens gave up on Whitney.

GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP)—Wojtek Wolski(notes) left the Colorado Avalanche behind—again.

Wolski beat his former Colorado teammates in his Phoenix debut, scoring the go-ahead goal with 22 seconds left in the Coyotes’ 3-1 victory Thursday night.
    Whoops. Hahahahahaha. F*** the Avalanche.
