a few more deals went down the last few days before the roster freeze went into effect today

    most recent and biggest first
Chicago trades Cam Barker to Minnesota for Kim Jonsson and recent 1st round pick of 09 Nick Leddy

    - helps Chicago short term and long term, short with getting cap space for next season and with Jonsson they are getting more ready for the playoffs and then long-term by restocking the system with Leddy
    - helps Minny with a young promising d-men with skills right now

Ottawa gets Matt Cullen from Carolina for Alex Picard and a 2nd round in 2010

NY Rangers acquired forward Jody Shelley from San Jose Sharks in exchange for a conditional pick in the 2011 draft.

Montreal trades a 2nd round in 2011 to Florida for Dominic Moore

Dallas gets goalie Kari Lehtonen from Atlanta for Ivan Vishnevskiy and a 4th round pick in 2010

Just saw Dan Patrick chatting with Jack Johnson on NBC's Olympics coverage. I guess NBC didn't get the memo that JJ is overrated. I feel he's the one who should have gone to Colorado for Ryan Smyth instead of Kyle Quincey.

    ...
Um, doesn't Kim Jonsson kind of sucks? That seems to me like a downgrade from Barker.
Also, the Sens waived Jonathan Cheechoo. Aye. Did anyone honestly believe that reclamation project was going to work?

Nope. And with a -13 on the ice and a .043 shooting percentage, I doubt many other teams are going to be in hot pursuit of the ever declining Cheechoo.

at this point Johnsson an upgrade defensively over Barker (not in a big way but just enough), another thing is Kim Johnsson is just going to be a 5th/6th defensemen in Chicago, and it doesn't hurt to have a vet for the playoffs either

Barker has a lot of upside but still weak defensively

and as mission said Cheechoo sucks

To be fair he did start the season playing on a line with Chris Neil, and Tuomo Rutoo. (I just butcheded the Finnish language on that)

He has been playing a lot better as of late, playing on a line with Speeza and Milachack (Sorry to the Czech people on that)

As a Sens fan its had to say what was gonna happen next in Cheech's performance. I liked the way he played in the last win against Washington, yeah we beat Ovie, what up!?!?!

Good job, they have nothing to show for trading Jay Bouwmeester. Even the Florida Marlins think they're cheap.

Souray, Staios, Moreau, O'Sullivan, Pisani, and Gilbert could be moved if someone wants them

Horcoff too, but no one will pay for him
