Sanor has hit for a .332 average this season. He has 67 extra base hits along with 298 total bases, resulting in a .565 slugging percentage. The Player of the Week award in the AL goes to Boston's Scott Brown this time, as the shortstop displayed the best offensive perfomance in his league. Brown helped his team with an average of .542 and 2 RBI in 24 at bats. Scott is hitting .297 this year, with 143 hits in 481 at bats. He has driven in 77 runs, slugging .459.
SEATTLE - Boston's southpaw Oliver Perez is a great pitcher. And he once again showed his stuff, blanking Seattle on just 2 hits. It's his 2nd shutout this season, and the 7th time he has done it in his career. Brett Bonvechio spoiled the bid for a no-hitter when he singled with no outs in the 6th inning. Perez (12-12) fanned 5 and walked none, throwing 95 pitches. 'Giving my team a chance to win is the most important thing for me. I was able to do it today.' The hitting star for Boston was rightfielder Vince Sinisi, he finished 2 for 4, stroking a double, and collecting 2 RBI. Boston improved its record to 77-55, scoring 4 runs on 10 hits.
Ulyanov has the BA, OBP, OPS, RC, RC/27 outs wrapped up. He's 1st in walks (by 1), hits (by 3) and runs (by 1). Valencia has been ace the past 3 months. BenSchoten'll have his wins, GS, and innings titles. Went 7-3, gained 2 games on the East and 1 on the WC. Yanks-Boston-Baltimore are 2-3-4 in the power rankings.
