Reyes and Pelfrey is a good start

Re: Jake Peavy traded this offseason?

Atlanta: Better position than the Padres
New York: They are going after Sabathia so why not peavy?
    Philly: Not enough
Florida: They have Uggla and some young arms to throw with him
Nationals: No way Peavy would want it

St. Louis: Didn't want to give up the asking price for Rauch. Its not that they couldn;t have gotten him. Looks like they were the smart ones on him.
    Houston: Can't
Chicago: Could package a deal together
    Pittsburgh: Peavy wouldn;t want it
    Cincy: Same as Pitt.

Colorado: Padres wouldn't trade to a better team in the division
AZ: Padres wouldn't trade to a better team in the division
SF: Padres wouldn't trade to a better team in the division

I wish Mets ownership was like old school George Steinbrenner. If they were, they'd write blank checks and sign CC and trade for Peavy. Then we'd have a deadly rotation of Johan, Peavy, CC, Pelfrey, Maine.

I somehow doubt that the Padres are stupid enough to trade their ace for the likes of Carlos "No Stick" Gomez.

The Mets farm team is better than people realize. If they made an offer starting with F-Mart, a couple other high prospects, Aaron Heilman(who has good trade value), it could work.

Sorry, but a .772 OPS in Binghamton usually doesn't get the job done in Petco. And I love it whenever fans suggest to also throw in a couple of faceless high prospects.

    Florida: Jeffrey Loria
    Washington: sucks

St. Louis: didn't have the prospects to even get Jon Rauch
Houston: traded their "valuable" prospects for Tejada
Chicago: They'll want to hold on to Josh Vitters
Milwaukee: already dealt their top prospect for Sabathia
Pittsburgh: only if Towers is sadistic enough
    Cincinnati: Dusty Baker

    Colorado: Coors Field
Arizona: exhausted their farm for Dan Haren and Adam Dunn
San Francisco: Peavy would be an excellent hitter in the 9-hole in their lineup, but they still need to fill out the other 8 spots.

Padres won every year behind Peavy since entering Petco except for one......So this is a false statement.......

Not false at all! Yes, he WAS a triple crown winner two years ago. Padres finished in last place this year hence Peavy's availability.

Are the mets going to convince the padres that Fernando Tatis is a 5 tool prospect?

please explain to me how Aaron Heilman has good trade value after this year. I'd love to hear that one.

-I personally don't like Heilman, but if I have read many articles on ESPN, etc, that say other teams' scouts say that he would be significantly better as a SP, and he will never start with the Mets.

-Don't hold your breath on Reyes and Pelfrey. There is no way that you're going to get one of the best young SS in major league baseball(who is signed at an INCREDIBLE bargain), a very good SP(signed for less than a million).
