The Padres and Jake Peavy are still trying to work out a no-trade clause before finalizing a three-year extension.
It makes sense, as Peavy is taking less money to stay in San Diego. He's expected to receive just over $50 million total for 2010-12.

Makes perfect sense. Peavy has earned the right to choose if and where he is traded. Getting this out of the way frees up a lot of time and effort for the Padres FO.

Our rotation in 2 years could be Peavy, CY, Latos, Prior, Carillo ..... that has the potential to dominate from top to bottom .....

With a team made up mainly of local or homegrown talent too ......

Yes Pads' post came months after my post so it looks like some might have changed their tune. Congrats!! You agreed with me! Everyone was skeptical in the much earlier thread and thought Peavy was out and I was the one who actually had faith in Padres FO. No one said they "shouldn't" but many of you either thought they wouldn't or couldn't. Go read for yourself. No need for an argument because there isn't one. And Pads was not one that disagreed so to say everyone was wrong.
