I know there had been talk that the Front Office was seriously considering offering Jones a loaded 1 year deal, but if you're going to go that route, why not put a 2-3 year deal together to keep him around, not just for 1 year. The numbers he's put up in Petco are crazy, so I think he would be a very good option for the Padres.

So the Padres are willing to pay more money for a declining Jones on a three year deal than pay an All Star Rowand for less and get him for five years?. Make up your mind! They will either spend money or not. Now do you see why I love coming in here???
