So the Padres are willing to pay more money for a declining Jones on a three year deal than pay an All Star Rowand for less and get him for five years?. Make up your mind! They will either spend money or not. Now do you see why I love coming in here???

Boy, did you miss something big even though it has been posted at least ten times by now but you refuse to read. He said the Padres weren't willing to give Rowand big money but then pulled a 180 saying they would be willing to give Jones big money. I didn't mix anything up and my undertanding of the English language is perfectly fine. The paragraph you quoted explained it perfectly.

What's missing is him saying the Padres would give AJones a big contract......clearly reading comprehension is where you're confusion begins.......

He said the Padres wont give Rowand this big contract........then he said IF you were going to give AJones a big 1 year deal why not give him 3 years.........never once did he say the Padres were going to or even thinking of it.........he was just tossing out there a simple though........IF 1year why not 3.........NOT that the Padres would or should........

But when I tossed Rowand out there he said no because of the price but then contradicted by suggesting a three deal for the more expensive Jones. That's the whole point. You can't say hell no to Rowand because of big money and say yes to Jones when he is going to make more money. It makes zero sense and that's why I love coming in here. I read just fine. He did in fact suggest what the Padres "should" do. That was the point of his suggestion. Maybe you should read the last three pages instead of just breezing through. Looks like you did want to bring a dead issue up. No wonder you love Milton Bradley so much.

Padres wont sign Rowand to 14m he's not worth it......and they wont sign AJones to a multi year deal either......

What HE suggested, not the Padres, was IF you're going to waste a ton of money on AJones on a 1 year deal......why not give him 3 years....... this isn't a contradiction.........at all.........

And arguing just to argue wont change that...........

He absolutely contradicted himself! He suggested it for himself? He owns the Padres? He is starting a team? No he was suggesting the Padres (not himself) offer a 2-3 yr deal instead of a one year deal to Jones. When I (not the Padres) suggested the Padres go after Rowand he said the Padres (not him) wouldn't spend money. But somehow they (the Padres) would spend money on a more expensive Jones on a three yr deal? They will either spend the money or they won't. That's the contradiction. You can't miss it! Fres and I were/are over this. You are the one arguing to argue considering we are over it!!

Rotoworld predicts Jones with go for $54 mil for 3 yrs. Rownad would go for 5 yrs at $60? Which sounds like the more logical choice if you were a GM? Sounds like some other people agree that Rowand won't make his magical $14mil.

From what I've skimmed through it looks to me what's in question is whether or not Jones and/or Rowand will or will not command that type of money moreso than whether or not the Padres would spend it should they command it.

We all know the latter, but we won't know the former for sure until it happens.

No, magical $14 mil. That is the only number he has used and has been using since he brought it up. I am the one saying $12 and that's the max I would put on him. So in fact I am the only one using 12 and he is using 14 and in fact you don't know what you're talking about. And you accuse me of arguing just to argue and making things up when I don't
