Let's face facts....Marlins are not going to move Cabrera, especially with him only making $400k.

As far as Ryan Zimmerman, I'm all for him. He's a young kid who can mash, but I don't think the Nationals would take Vinny back, nor do I think the Padres would move their top pick (Carillo) from the 2005 Draft.

So the Marlins won't move Cabrera who make practically nothing but the Nats will move Zimmerman who makes nothing and for a lot longer than Cabrera? That makes no sense. Cabrera is more likely to leave than Zimmerman because Cabrera will demand Pujols-like money. Nats Org. loves Zimmerman and for good reason. He will be on that corner in Washington for a long time or at least four years

Reefer, I didn't say the Nationals would move him, I just said I would love to see him in San Diego. I agree that the Nationals probably won't move a young kid with his type of power. Though, the Nationals are hurting for bullpen help, the Padres could use Linebrink in a potential move, even to another team that needs pitching help in Atlanta.

Well it wasn't directed at you but anyway it just didn't make any sense to bring it up. Atlanta would probably suck Towers **** for a guy like Linebrink and I would love to see himout of the West. Betemit can play a mean third but doesn't add any pop.

The Nats aren't even close to competing though. When they get there, Zimmerman is probably going to be a part of it. I doubt they'd move him for pen help in the form of a 30 year old.

Josh Fields, on the other hand...well, let's just say Scott Linebrink would look very nice in a White Sox uni.

What about Leone? Are we giving up on him right now?

The organization gave up on Leone when they started using Paul MacAnulty at 3rd base on the farm.....that's a pretty clear indicator that they don't think very highly of him....

their not thinking highly of him probably has something to do with his sharp decline in production prior to the position change for PMac.

In regards to Piazza/Weaver, I was stating that I don't want Jeff Weaver because he's garbage.

i'd be reluctant to part with Piazza right now to be quite honest.

He leads the team in home runs, all while platooning with two other guys.

I hear ya.....but if he could be moved to get the needed piece, I'm all for it....especially since if you project Bards #'s out, he would probably be our team leader in BA, HR & maybe RBI
