Oh yah......so long as they don't wreck the current ship, I'm pretty ok with anyone on the farm being involved to get Cabrera.....that includes Carillo

I don't know who or where you got that opinion from, but I'm glad that person is saying the same thing I am. Fields is tearing the cover off the ball in Charlotte right now, and he plays at a position that is very low need for the White Sox. Linebrink plays at a position that currently is pretty high need for the Sox, plus he's awesome at his job. To be honest, I think Fields would probably be your best attainable option right now, as I doubt Cabrera or Zim are going anywhere.

Cabrera IMO is gone......to whom is the question.....if he doesn't go this year, then he's history next when his contract is up.....he'll go to FA and get mega bucks in the FA market unless he's moved for prospects while Fla is able....There is no way they will be able to afford him, or be able to offer him what others will.....IMO

    3. Third Base, San Diego Padres The franchise that once gave us Enzo Hernandez inexplicably continues to foist Vinny Castilla upon the world. Castilla is homerless against left-handers, walkless in June and hitless for the entire season with runners in scoring position and two outs. With Geoff Blum and Mark Bellhorn getting only limited playing time there, Padres third basemen were worst at the position in OBP, slugging, runs and home runs -- without attempting a stolen base, either.

Solution: Blum and Bellhorn should get many of the at-bats that are going to Castilla, even with the sacrifice on defense. Eric Hinske and Tony Graffanino are not impact hitters, but they would be clear upgrades available on the trade market.

I cannot see the Nats trading Zimmerman anytime soon. He makes pennies and is very good! Plus they have other trade bait like Soriano and Hernandez!

Ok so in a realistic trade along with a quality setup man in Linebrink, you could use any of the following and come up with a damn enticing package for someone to get what we need.......thoughts ??

Bowen, Kotteras, Bard, Piazza, Laforest, Morton & Hundley ........we're pretty deep at catcher, and could use this to our advantage.....

Stauffer, Meaux, Ramos, Meredith, Carillo....not exactly junk, and could add to a very valuable package

McAnulty, Headley, Hill, Leone, Johnson, Sledge, Cust could all be added to the right package as well

Linebrink, Bowen, Leone & Hundley......for Cabrera ? Is this getting warm ... thoughts ?

I would switch out Leone with Stauffer since Leone isn't that good.

Hey, no knocking Tony. He could probably play a decent second, third and short and hit 20 HR's(despite barely cracking .150)
