Cameron has an option for next year. It's as easy as picking it up (I think it's a team option)

Do you have to pick up the option, or can you negotiate a new contract instead of ?

Piazza has an $8m option for next season, but I think Cameron has a contract through next season, so I would extend him another 2-3 years.

I agree Padrefan. I was saying we should extend Cam's contract for another 2-3 years. I think Kottaras and LaForest could be manning the catchers spot next season.

The Padres' bats need to come alive. I don't know how much more of this Padre fans are going to take. I know the NL West is shaping up to be just like last year, so that means we can peak at the right time and still win this division.

I felt bad for Piazza yesterday, hitting his 400th career HR in front of a sparse crowd. I wish he had done that in front of 36-40k.

    Padres

The Padres need to shut down the Dodgers this weekend. There's no question their bats need get going and they need to take 2 of 3 from the Dodgers, keep them from walking into our house and thinking they can win here.
