Yankees Nady making Cashman look like a genius

Xavier Nady's stats since coming to the Yankees:

    12-30 (.400)
    4 HR
    10 RBI's
    .467 OBP
    .846 slugging

He's the man so far for the Yanks. He's been the reason they've won a few games already, and he just tied the game in the 8th against Texas with a clutch solo shot. So far this deal has been great.

Yeah, Nady has helped our club out a lot, no doubt. Looks like we got another pitching problem though, with Joba. Maybe we should have traded for a SP.

He's just another one of those guys for the "No Talent League" as I have heard some media members call the NL. Nady is having a career year and it doesn't matter where he hits or which league he does it in. The dude is straight raking!!

I wonder how long its going to take the front office to realize that pitching is more important than hitting. We bulk up our line up and then they forget about our rotation.

Which is why the Yankees haven't won a championship since 2000. They lost their way and started spending huge amounts of money. I miss the Yankee's of the late 90's.

I'm confused, what exactly were we supposed to do?
I did a lot of good things as a sim league GM.

Ah, give me something clever to say here.

Stick to the plan! Focus on the farm system and pitching. In 1999, the Yankees only had $8 million more than the second highest payroll which belonged to the Dodgers. Yankees got away from what made them successful.

That's what they are doing though, with Hughes, Chamberlain, Kennedy, Melancon, Cox, Robertson, Horne, Marquez, Betances, Brackman, Bleich, Cole, etc

I would be quite worried about the Chamberlain injury, he was holding his shoulder I dont know what the extent of the injury is, but with the lack of pitching your club has I see your club in serious trouble!

Why does MN's statement not surprise me? He has a stiff right shoulder, hopefully he will be fine. I am glad Giese is getting the start saturday over Rasner. I really like Giese.

Our pitching has been fine this year, our bats are the reason we are chasing 2 teams instead of in 1st place.

You have it partially right. The dynasty ended and we started spenign crazily on big names trying to re-start the dynasty but the bigger problem has been our BATS the past 5 years or so. Every October they disappear, they are great in the reg season but stink in october. We have better lineups on paper than we had during the dynasty years but we actually had players who could stand up under pressure.

That's what Cashman has been doing or you would have seen Santana a Yankee this season or you would have seen them go after Sabathia or Harden but they didn't want to unload top prospects.
