Ponson's 2008 Yankees debut: 6 IP, 5 H, 0 R, 4 K, 4 BB, 96 pitches
Very nice. He totally shut down the Mets in his first start. I didn't watch it however, I'm just looking at numbers. Any comments from people who watched it?
He started off that way for the last 16 teams he played for.
Marshall: MILSWANCAs?
Ted: Wait, I can get this. Mothers I'd like to sleep with and never call again.
Barney: Circle gets the square!

He actually pitched pretty poorly for the first 4 innings. He had 2 men on, bases loaded, bases loaded, and 2 men on...that just got stranded by poor Mets hitting. Terrible situational hitting saved Ponson from having his ass whooped.
What up!
He didn't shut them down, but he shut them out...it was a complete fluky performance. But I'll take it.
I did a lot of good things as a sim league GM.
Ah, give me something clever to say here.
He didn't totally shut them down, he did a great job of getting out of jams. Loaded bases and 0 out in the 2nd which he got out of and 2nd and 3rd w/ 1 out in the 3rd which he also got out of. He earned another start, he wasn't pitching poorl;y for Texas and we have room in the rotation so hopefully he can stay out of trouble and give us a few more quality starts.
His last two innings were relatively strong as well. The only problem is, Girardi is going to give him another start. On Wednesday. Against the Red Sox.
Save Phil Hughes
I don't know if it was all him getting out of jams. When he had bases loaded with no outs, it was Pedro due up, then Reyes who swung at the first pitch. Than Castillo had to get a hit. That inning was all Mets hitting's fault. Not to mention Castro swinging 3-1 the following inning. I knew he'd GIDP.
He also did the same thing when just starting for Texas then he had his ups and downs until he went back to the idiot he really is.
