Are You Tired Of Red Sox/Yankees?

Does ESPN have too much coverage of the Red Sox and Yankees?

I am going to have to say yes and its hardly debatable. They talk about them at length and hardly any other team. They blow them way too much leaving out other worthy teams. Fans want variety and not the same old teams playing over and over. There is a thing called overkill and ESPN has done just that. Waiting all night to see your teams coverage and you get 30 secs while the Yankees/Rays game gets five minutes. Too much coverage!

No. They are the biggest rivalry in sports, they involve the biggest and most recognizable names in baseball, and they are in 2 of the biggest markets in baseball. It makes them money, and it excites many people. So no

they are? maybe the biggest in baseball. maybe. but not the biggest in sports. football has bigger rivalries. same with college basketball and football.

I'm tired of the coverage as a whole.. what the media gives it, what we give it by always complaining about something that's always going to be there and etc. etc.

The rivalry itself, no, not tired of it. I hate the Empire, and not really a red sox fan even though I don't mind them, but it's good baseball usually. I like hotly contested games, a little ignition and BOOM, something fun could happen.

That picture of a crying child really does a lot to counter LTR's points.

Great debate skills bronx, I think you may have changed my opinion on the matter.

Have you ever stopped to think that perhaps they have the most recognizable names in baseball because they're on national TV so much?

If he doesn't want to see the Yankees or red Sox, why don't he start his own baseball league that will rival the MLB

Right, because any joe can just arbitrarily start his own baseball league on a whim.

And how does that solve his desire to see other MLB teams play?

Maybe his league can steal the other 28 teams from the MLB, and land a TV deal with FOX, TBS, ESPN, and make his own network.

But if we back out of the world of inane fantasy and get back into reality do you have any other suggestions?

Awesome suggestion, that's what I do.

That doesn't change the fact that ESPN is stupid for doing it.

Do you think it's good business practice to drive everyone to quit watching their station and, instead, go to MLB.TV and MLB Extra Innings?

And the complaint is still valid because Yankees and Red Sox fans only have to pay for basic cable to see their team a lot while every one else has to pay an extra 109 bucks (for MLB.TV) or however much MLB XI costs to see their team play a lot if they don't live in the home town.
