    Mets to get Javier Vazquez?

The Mets are absolutely tearing up the Hot Stove.
    Javier Vazquez: Headed to Shea?

The Mets are in the mix to acquire Vazquez with Kris Benson and prospect Brian Bannister rumored to be going to Arizona, the NY Post reports.

Vazquez has asked for a trade to the East Coast and would love to be reunited with Mets' GM Omar Minaya, who filled a similar role when both of them were with Montreal. He is coming off a second consecutive poor season, where he went 11-15 with a 4.91 ERA, and is owed $11.5 million in 2006 and $12.5 million in 2007. Vazquez could benefit from pitching at Shea Stadium, as opposed to Bank One Ballpark, but with back-to-back poor seasons, it may be buyer beware.

Javy Vazquez is just a wee little bit worse than Kris Benson, essentially... and he makes twice as much cash. *and* the Mets give up one of their top 10 prospects? This doesn't make any sense at all.

Eh, I like Vazquez better than Benson. But I'm not sure about the prospect being in this deal unless the Diamondbacks are eating some of Vazquez's salary. Bannister is still a project. BBA gave him a less than rousing SR...

    Weaknesses:
Despite his success, Bannister still raises some obvious red flags. His fastball’s movement is less impressive than its average velocity, and he tends to leave it up in the zone. He doesn’t have much feel for a changeup, and his curveball is inconsistent.

Seems like a good guy to take a chance on moving.

I'd rather have Vazquez over Bensauce. But..

So who aren't the mets trying to get this offseason? Jesus.

I'm sure the Mets players will be upset as goes Kris, so does Anna...and remember, Anna said she'd do the whole team if Kris ever cheated on her

I wish I was on his team, and Kris cheated on her.

Rather, hot if you're one of the first 4 or 5.
