That's one expensive hamstring pull, yo.

Not sure I'd have given him that much, but he is, when healthy, an impact player. Hanley to 3B?

Where are all the Paul DePodesta fanboys now to guarantee to me that he'll help build every team he has joined into World Series champions since he was let go by the Dodgers?
You don't think he's doing a good job as the de facto GM of the Mets?

Hey, the Dodgers were somehow brought up by mofo! Shocker!
To the actual topic at hand, I think the Marlins made a great signing here. It's one more year than I would be willing to give but the Marlins had to do what it took to land them the best SS on the free agent market. Reyes will be making less than $18 million annually which is a good thing in my opinion. This move does a lot of good for the Marlins. It gives them an upgrade at SS and moves Hanley to 3B which was bound to happen anyway. They now have a damn good left side of the infield. Reyes should thrive in the new spacious ballpark and along with Bonifacio, should give a lot of pitchers headaches on the basepaths. That's only if they move Bonifacio to CF. Reyes will give them a legitimate leadoff man as well setting up Hanley, Stanton and Sanchez. Reyes does a lot for a team and this one in particular. Now all the Marlins need to do is get them some starting pitching. The Mets will get the Marlins third round pick as compensation for Reyes.
I shall refrain from judging his record until he engineers the return of HEE-SEOP CHOI.
My post was more about DePo than about his former team. And while I mention my team a lot, I don't act like an annoying homer every time a player is mentioned to be on the move, the way some of you do. ("I'd like to see the Cubs sign Pujols! I'd like to see the Cubs sign Fielder!")

Your way is far more annoying.
If it means I won't have to get into another pointless debate with you where you feel compelled to be right about everything on topic, I'm fine with going off topic.
You never have to get into a debate with me. You can simply not respond Don't act like you're somehow different than me on feeling compelled to be right.

The Marlins will make a run to the playoffs either this year or next year and will follow that with their usual offseason firesale in 2013 or 2014. Lather, rinse, repeat.

I think marlins got a really good pickup but way too high a price. Reyes is a speed guy with suspect legs over course of season and aging way before that deal is up. I hope they got an opt out clause in there after year 3 or 4
Breaking the 100 million dollar mark is something I wouldn't have done with Reyes. Miami appears to be the only team to have done so, and therefore he ends up in South Florida.
Lebatard is gonna rag all over this.
You can't even admit to yourself what an egomaniac you are, can you? That you consistently go out your way to not just disagree with others but tell them that they're wrong if they think otherwise.
