Very true, the Astros aren't exactly considered a good hitting team at all. But as you said, this should hopefully be just a step in the right direction.

Just as I figured, putting all of our lesser hitters later in the order would produce runs. How about the top half of our lineup going 0 for 13 so far and we still score 6 runs. Thank goodness for Hanigan and I hope that this performance from the 1-4 hitters won't have Dusty thinkng.....hmmm, I need to tinker with my lineup.

Pretty good showing considering it was a win. This was the Hanigan and Bruce show though. Both played really good defense and got on base nearly every time up. Massett with a nice outing for once, maybe he is back to business? Cordero was decent tonight as well. I loved the lineup outside of Stubbs leading off. Perhaps Dusty goes with it again? Knowing Votto and Rolen are going to hit, I think it will be fine. Rolen and Phillips bpth hit the ball hard tonight, just in the deep parts of the ballpark. These shots would have been gone at GABP. They weren't getting fooled out there like Stubbs continues to do. And how about Cabrera? I like his bat in the lineup. And he is a very smart baserunner (unlike Phillips tonight). But Cabrera did dissapoint on the range side of things at SS. But, we all knew that was the matter of fact with him anyway. I am still impressed with him so far though.
Here is to Harang getting it going though. This team could really use it! 2 in a row fellas! Lets go!

    MVP: Hanigan
    BUM: Phillips

This was so big for Harang to actually have a solid outing under his belt, with run support. Maybe ace of the staff Aaron Harang is gone, I don't know, but I am still convinced that we need a veteran presence on this staff so I do hope that both Harang and Arroyo can be dependable for maybe not electric stuff, but solid outings.

Its crazy what pitching inside and going for first pitch strikes can do.

In a really deep league, should I pick up Hanigan?
    Marshall: MILSWANCAs?

Hanigan had a pretty big 1st half his rookie year. For a rookie, he was up in the voting for ROY (first half). But he eventually declined to norm catcher levels. He is still considered a backup to Ramon, so I would worry about PT for him. If the league is full of unwise GMs, I would consider waiting a bit longer. I think it is still more of a hope thing than a sure thing for Reds fans bro.

He was an undrafted free agent, but you never know.

Everyone could argue that. Unfortunately the one guy that matters likely won't see it that way. If the past presents itself.

Zito, I'd wait unless you just have some sort of trash on your bench that you could easily replace. Value at catcher can be hard to find, so if you really need it and could stash him until he is getting more regular playing time, that is the only way I would pick him up now.
