Just showing the contrast of how the Reds FO handles players. Could the Reds have gotten Tavares for an MLC and an opportunity to earn CF? Maybe maybe not. But they didnt have to pay him 6 mil over 2 years. Giles is a guy who had a similar season (OPS wise and agewise similar) that I saw signed recently.

Just a few snags in this logic.
1. The reigning stolen base leader was not going to sign for a minor league contract
and
2. Giles wasn't even in the ****ing league last year!! He has been useless for two years now!

Taveras was going to get that second year regardless with arbitration.

I knew when he was signed Duhhhsty wouldnt even have open competition. He's being paid too much to sit the bench (much like Hernandez which sucks too). Later in that Quote Duhhhsty went on to say Tavares had 30 doubles and double digit triples.... which is patented absurd unless he was refering to Tavares' career totals. Which is/was/always will be HORRIBLE.
