    Soapbox Jason Bay Next?

After the lack of interest in quality OF (Abreu, Dunn, etc...), this to me seems like a greater possibility then at the beginning of the off-season.

Bay quickly because a fan favorite in Boston with the way he hustled, and made big plays at the right time. He's a great clubhouse guy and has already done a lot for the Boston community.

I think his extension should be slightly higher than Peds and Youks, due to the fact its a FA contract and not arbitration but I think somewhere in the 4 year 44-52 mil range or 5 year 55 to 65 mil range should get a deal done.

Do you think that would be a deal Boston and Bay should make?

Boston would be anything equal to the word idiotic to let Bay go at the end of the season.

They should sign him to whatever he wants, to be quite honest. He's a HUGE part of that offensive powerhouse. Yes, the deal you bring up would be fair, IMO, CJ.

Bay is definitely a guy the Red Sox should retain but its a tricky situation. Holliday is a FA too next year. JD Drew has two years left after the season and Ortiz has just one year guaranteed. If I'm Boston, I sign both Bay and Holliday and try and trade Drew.

If they signed Bay AND Holliday, I might give up being a baseball fan, cuz that offense would be unstoppable

Bay, Ellsbury and Holliday would make for a great OF.

Yankees fan complaining about a team stacking itself in free agency.

haha i'm not complaining at all, it would be amazing by Boston, I'm simply saying that no one will be able to stop their offense. It will be insane.
