  1. My blog entry concerning the NFL Draft

I like the idea of the draft being in primetime, but I do not like that it's going against the playoffs of two other major sports. Plus there's baseball. It's a good time to have DVR or a remote handy. But one wonders if Roger Goodell is attempting to become an iconic authoritarian like David Stern was previously? Then again, football generates the most bang for the buck amongst the four major sports, and NASCAR.

I am a diehard steeler fan. But I am not naive to ignore Big Ben's ...

Well, what can I say, other than it's been a while... a lot has changed, both here at baseballslant (last I remember it was still S3F) and in my life. Wow. It kinda pains me to say that my life became so chaotic and hellish that I basically neglected baseball for the entirety of last season. Then again, nothing against my team or anything, I don't think I really missed that much (another ROTY award thanks to Mr. Beane, we become the laughing stock of the AL West once again, the Giants continue to ...

Andruw has 392 career ...

  4. 2nd annual "I know I'm better than A.J. Smith" live draft selection

Tune in here on Thursday when I suggest the draft prospect that Sir A.J. ignores and pays dearly for it all next season.

Last year at the now-defunct NFL sister site, I pushed for beastly Ole Miss offensive tackle Michael Oher when he fell to San Diego's pick at #16. Instead, A.J. reached for Northern Illinois defensive end Larry English, who made his name beating inferior players in an inferior NCAA FBS conference. Oher went on to start every game for Baltimore and came in 2nd place ...

  5. The House of Porterhouse Slants: Prime 9 thoughts for Week 2

    9. Did people realize that Livan Hernandez just had his best start to a season since most of us were high school?

    8. While we are at it, Scott Posednik leads the ML in batting average?!? More reasons to support Zito's blog.

    7. The Rays decided to rape and pillage Boston this past week. While I think eventually the Sox will get back on track. Might I repeat the Yanks started 10-18 in 2009 and we know that result.

    6. The Rockies got a no-hitter before the ...
