The Coach, as annoying as he may be, is a vital neccesity for the WWE.
He is the only true heel commentator in both shows.

They play Tazz off as the "heel" announcer on Smackdown, but he is more of what Lawler was back when JR was still commentating. Sure he'll sympathise with the heel now and then, but more often than not he's "admitting" that the heel's actions are wrong.

Whatever happend to the days of Bobby The Brain Heenan or Jessie Ventura, or the pre-puppies era Jerry Lawler always rooting on the bad guy, no matter what?

It's pretty freakin lame now. The King used to be good...one of the best heel announcers. But then he started screaming about puppies and got popular, next thing you know he starts sympathising with the faces. And of course now he is the face announcer.

And Rock called Coach a 'popcorn fart' and absolutely nobody caught on to a Rock insult for the first time ever...I remember that.

I can't stand Lawler's puppies/anti-heel crap. I remember when he'd sit there on commentary and make fun of Bret's family for an entire show.

    I want my 1994 back.

It's what it is. Sports Entertainment. It's like a soap opera but hello it's just pure fun. Some of the Superstars you love, sopme you hate. 'Ya get my drift, right brotha...I mean whacha gonna do? You watch and some of the stuff seems more ridiculous than others but you get to daze off into another world and forget work and the troubled world. Frankly I see nothing wrong with it. Is it stupid? Sure but so what. Long live the WWE!

I totally agree. I also wish the development of characters was like back then. Also I wish there were better matches on Raw like back then. All Raw and Smackdown is anymore is setup for PPV.

PPV is where the big money is and that is what the WWE is focused on. Can't say as I blame them. No free lunches these days!

WWE is reviving the ECW brand. It will start back up this June. They are trying to get back some of the talents, like The Sandman, Balls Mahoney, et al. They have already signed Sabu.

Yeah, I understand that, but I just which they had a great match every once in a while on free tv.

Thats because their matches are the following:

Cena gets the crap beaten out of him, then comes back with the 5 knuckle shuffle and a possible FU.

HBK goes back and forth with someone, does a nip up, goes for a flying elbow, tunes up the band, and possibly lands a Sweet Chin Music.

Don't get me wrong, I love HBK, but the best match he's had in a while was the first one against Shelton Benjamin where he hit the Sweet Chin Music after Benjamin did a flying maneuver from the ring apron right into it.

Backlash seemed to be an embarrassing PPV.

I've had it with John Cena as champ. Triple H needs to win it again.

I didn't shell out $40 for Backlash...but yeah the whole Cena thing is done and over with. He was OK when he was coming up but now his act is tired. HHH (although I don't care for him much) would be better as Champ.

I'll like Triple H when (and if) he and HBK re-form DX.
