In all seriousness, I'll trade you Josh Beckett for Jeff Larish and Justin Verlander.

Really not sure if that's something you'd even consider... but it gets Larish out of your longterm plans, since he's signed till 2020. It gets Josh Beckett's ass off my team (his contract runs through 2018 at 16mil, but since I've committed to re-signing Loney & Kemp, I want to have some money available to make moves this offseason).

I'll take Verlander for immediate salary relief on your part...

If you're not interested in something like this, don't worry... it's a weird proposal.. but Beckett will never perform with my team, and I don't know how else I'll unload him without taking on some dirt in return... he might even be better in a 4-man rotation, who knows.. but he can't go more than 5-6 innings lately for my team.

Well.. have to think about that... granted I have had good luck with pitchers traded from LA.. AKA Prior... but don't really see Beckett cracking the rotation.. and I have similar pitchers in the pen and others similar to populate the pen in AAA

That's fair and understandable. At 16 mil, that's a bit much for AAA insurrance. If he wasn't going to crack the roster, then I can understand not wanting to make the deal.

I'm not closing the door because I'm not even really exploring any other opportunities, so if anything changes just let me know.
