    Re: 2017 random rumblings

Barton is the perfect 2 hole IMHO. He thrived in that spot last season. Granted, he did have the 2nd highest OPS so I guess I could have dropped him, but a 2 hole guy should get on base a ton...which he did at a .395 clip. Parm's OBP isn't close to that. I want guys on base for the 3-4-5 guys. I know Weeks got on base less last year, but it's still better than Parm and he's got speed. Ideally, Pennington would leadoff, but he didn't do well up there; he's thrived at the bottom.

My lineup ate them for breakfast, brunch, lunch, supper, dinner, lupper, munch, and pinner.

    Porter--
I'll check in a sec, but really, take all of this with a grain of salt when I do post it. However... I do remember Kiker was among the top-3 in Ks on the leaderboard by the end of the yr, and had atleast 15 wins.

    Re: 2017 random rumblings

cpu started francis, moskos, and aumont... for most of the year i'd assume. but none of them accumulated 160+ ip honestly...

kiker had 229 ks in 237 ip, 16-11
    lobstein had a 4.44 era, 13-11

the rest is forgetable besides marmol who was rad, but they didn't really play many of the players i assume you intend on trying ... bruney & bush had eras hovering above 4, and 70+ ip each..

bowden had a 3.86 era in 12 starts, then went out for the yr with glaucoma!

    The CPU should be contracted.

Anything noteworthy from the alternate-reality sim for teh Rays? I'm kinda curious how Aramis did, because I'm debating platooning him at DH with Pedroia, starting the Dustmaster vs. LHP.

Nick, I did not even notice this until today, but this is the funniest thing I've ever seen.

    Re: 2017 random rumblings

2-9 sim, but mainly because of a lot of fluky things. This sim was actually encouraging in multiple departments.

Figuerdo gained power, which is really nice, because it might give me some pop in the top of that lineup. He's hitting .230 but it's because he's 0-11 against lefties. That will change.

My bullpen absolutely blew chunks the first sim, but I don't expect that to continue at all. Obviously pitching in Coors will bloat stats, but I don't expect Medina to keep that 6+ ERA, or Sedillo and Reverol to stay with their 13+ and 7+ ERA's. That will change.

The starting rotation looks very promising, especially Garcia, who I was worried about the most. Paez will be fine. He gained control actuals in spring training, so I'm not worried about him at all.

This sim was the most encouraging a 2-9 sim can get

10-1 pyth record first sim, 8-3 actual, 1/2 game out of the Yankees. Amazing 17 inning game vs. Baltimore was lost by Benford, pissin' me off severely, but all in all, a good sim. Bridges is slumping, which is odd considering he usually starts hot and cools off.

Aaron Thompson got his ass kicked twice by Colorado, but Colorado lost both times cause they gave up 32 total runs. Wow, zero pitching in those games (21-7, 11-10)

OAKLAND - Oakland's right-hander Ryan Madson suffered a severe injury on Sunday and will be out for at least 7-8 weeks. In the 1st of the game against Seattle he experienced pain in his throwing arm and had to leave the game. After x-rays were taken the diagnosis did not surprise many: Ruptured Disc Back. Surgery will be performed next week.
really? no one was surprised that his back was injured when he experienced pain in his throwing arm? really? hmmm...

Monday 4/10/2017: Pujols wins Player of the Week award
The American League's best player of the week was Oakland's Albert Pujols, who wins the award for the 11th time in his career. Albert was on fire, hitting .643 with 3 HR and 15 RBI. Albert managed to drive in at least one run in every game he played this week.

    Batting AVG: .335 (1st)
    Homeruns: 11 (T-12th)
    Walks: 46 (3rd)
    Stolen Bases: 22 (3rd)
    Runs Scored: 100 (1st)

    Pitching ERA: 4.58 (16th)
    Opponents AVG: .276 (20th)
    HRs Allowed: 5 (T-2nd)
    Walks Allowed: 35 (18th)
    Runs Allowed: 60 (19th)

pitching was middle of the pack overall, but hopefully they can improve those numbers. the offense was tops, which isn't really a surprise to me.
