I think that Matt Cain trade was pretty fair, honestly.

Consider I'm paying Cain 22 million and he wouldn't re-sign for any less. Hughes is no slouch, either.

What a contrast of offensive styles. You do everything except hit for average and all I do is hit for average.

Too bad my pitching blows as bad and gives up too many hits and walks I might actually make a run. On the good news the scouts gave me a couple nice boosts.

Danny Duffy seems to have improved his pure stuff!

Maybe theyll get fast track talent and I'll get to use them. More overhaul to my pitching inbound. Wagner's been a surprise. May keep him around.

My Cardinals are stinking it up this year, but at least ehwy are playing better than they have the last couple of sims.

Slyder has brought this funny little tidbit to my attention:

"Slyder" (9:46:44 PM): wtf is in the water at coors
    Giantsfan5689 (9:46:49 PM): y?
"Slyder" (9:46:52 PM): Kerry Woods split
After further review, Kerry Woods' splits:
    Home: 13.2 IP, 1.98 ERA, 9 H, 3 R, 14 K
    Away: 11 IP, 5.73 ERA, 13 H, 8 R, 9 K

this season has been one giant for me

Mattingly has potential, he wouldn't go for a player like that. Try Jimmy Rollins or some older guy who's ready to drastically tail off.

i dunno why bjd gets so much shit for that trade...... in hindsite, it's a good trade... hughes is 10-9-8, and when he's healthy, he's always been a solid pitcher.... Cain is Cain, and you'll NEVER get fair value for someone like that..... but if you can't resign him, what, let him walk? He got a 10-9-9 or something back then pitcher under 25 at the time... and Robinson was pretty nice back then too if i remember right.

I dunno, if Hughes was more durable it would look a lot better...

Yeah, that's kind of the other thing: he couldn't sign Cain and was either going to lose him to FA or try to recoup something for him.

Hughes has been good at 1/3 of the cost of Cain. Remember- I offered Cain 6 years @24 million(I believe that was my last offer.) He turned that down. No way am I going any higher. I was lucky to have Lincecum sign for cheap, who has basically been dogshit for the past 2 seasons. I have two offers for him, but neither has really knocked me over for him... I'm just holding on to him until the deadline... maybe beyond.

This team is very bad on offense and pitching and even defense. But at least Headley and Marmol will get me some compensation (if Marmol doesn't sign.) There isn't really much insight to give to his wallowing bunch of crap hitters and underachievers. Fire them all.

I could have gotten that output from my Rookie A SS. Who ever that might be.
