I'd like to win at least 60. And trade Headley. I predict both goals being nearly impossible to achieve. So, another top five pick perhaps? A few more months and maybe Michael Inoa, Lynwood Hall, Matt Latos, and Jeffrey Dick will grace my pitching staff? Of course last year, I threw the towel in, I knew it was a lost cause, but naturally Sammy Sosa has his best all around year since 2001-2002 and played good defense.. at 2B and 1B. OOTP, Where Fun Happens!
Lineup:
1. Desmond Jennings, CF 9-9-3-6-7
2. Ronnie Cedeno, SS 9-8-5-5-6
3. Chase Headley, LF 10-9-7-6-7
4. Prince Fielder, 1B 8-8-10-7-6
5. John Smith, C 8-7-6-7-8
6. Jason Place, RF 8-9-8-5-5
7. Howie Kendrick, 3B 8-9-7-4-8
8. Perf Ed-LHP 10-6-3-9-7/Mark Blas-RHP 8-4-2-5-8, 2B
9. -
I really like my defense except for having no real 3B, but Kendrick learned that position for me before in other leagues, worth a shot. Most of my lineup have hit or can hit .300, so if I can just get some pop fomr Fielder and Place, should be a half-way decent offense.
Bench:
C Ronnie Paulino, 7-5-6-7-6
1B Ryan Garko, 8-8-8-7-6
SS Jack Wilson, 8-7-5-5-9
CF Juan Pierre, 8-7-2-4-10
Rotation:
1. Clay Buchholz, 10-6-9
2. Barry Zito, 9-7-9
3. Jesse Litsch, 5-9-10
4. Sean Gallagher, 9-7-9
5. Chuck Tiffany, 10-8-8
I'll just keep trying Tiffany and Gallagher until they realize they have good ratings. That may never happen, but I have nothing to lose. The important thing is, I have Zito and I don't care.
Mops:
1. Aaron Cook, 6-10-9
2. Mark Mulder, 8-7-9
Pen:
1. Scott Mathieson, 9-8-7
2. Matt Bush, 10-7-7
3. Mark Mulder, 8-7-9
4. Robinson Tejada, 8-7-9
Setup:
1. Matt Walker, 10-8-7
2. Matt Bush, 10-7-7
Closer:
Jon Lester, 10-7-8
Most of the pen is just a stopgap and hope for maybe a fluke good year. I mean, Seth McClung looked great for me. Who knows, right?
I'll win 64 games. That's my prediction.
