    Re: 2010 Predictions

    AL East
    1. New York - Defending champs will be better than last year. Any reason not to pick them?
    2. Tampa Bay (WC) - Pitching staff will get a lot of strikeouts and give up a lot of homers...this is the type of young team real life Tampa probably hopes to have.
    3. Baltimore - I realize I'm putting a team that won 92 games and arguably better in 3rd place, but I think a) Tampa's going to be better and b) last year might have been a bit fluky for the O's. Could see these 3 teams shaking out any way though...what a division.
    4. Boston - ...check that, I could see these 4 teams shaking out any way. Best 4th place team I've ever seen if my predictions come true. And Yes, I'm picking Tampa and Baltimore over the $131 mil payroll.
    5. Toronto - No chance whatsoever. I don't care that they signed 11 Free Agents. No chance. Wrong division.

    AL Central
    1. Detroit - Most triples ever with the 3 headed monster of Granderson, Reyes, and Crawford? It's certainly possible.
    2. Kansas City - Wow, how bad is this division?...Beckett signing was a good one, but need to replicate career years from some hitters.
    3. Cleveland - Grady Sizemore = most underacheiving OOTP player ever?
    4. Chicago - Biding their time until 2011 when almost all of their crappy contracts will be long gone...except Vernon Wells.
    5. Minnesota - Good god, this team won the division twice? Also, how bad does the return on that Santana trade look now...

    AL West
    1. Oakland - I was oh so close to picking Seattle here but I couldn't do it for some reason. On an unrelated note Prov will probably never trade Rich Harden again.
    2. Seattle - I think they're a player or two away from being really good.
    3. Texas - Because they may be able to field a 25 man roster.
    4. Los Angeles - Because they might not.

    Yankees over Tigers in 5
    A's over Rays in 4
    Yankees over A's in 6

    NL East
    1. Florida - I felt like I was getting deja vu clicking on their first 3 starting pitchers (all 8-8-9)...although I wonder when David Wright and Hanley Ramirez will wake up.
    2. Washington - Prentice Redman! Brandon Claussen! Your 2010 Washington Nationals!
    3. New York - Pat Burrell on the Mets. lol.
    4. Philadelphia - Despite the greatness of J.A. Happ. WHAT'S HAPPENIN?
    5. Atlanta - No chance. Moving on.

    NL Central
    1. Milwaukee - Don't expect another 94-95 win season though.
    2. Cincinnati - Don't sleep on em...even if they don't have a bullpen. Although those are always nice.
    3. St. Louis - Why do we have two sim leagues where both Pujols and Santana are on an NL Central team?
    4. Pittsburgh - They've gone 70-92 3 straight years. THIS IS THE YEAR TO END THE STREAK!
    5. Chicago - On the bright side, they're the only team in the league with a closer named Rocky.
    6. Houston - Content to be middling.

    NL West
    1. Los Angeles - Which Carlos Beltran will we see...the 2008 version, or the 2009 one?
    2. Arizona (WC) - Micah Owings is ****ing ridiculous.
    3. San Francisco - After 3 seasons, Brad Hennessey still refuses to come back to Earth.
    4. Colorado - What direction are they trying to go in?
    5. San Diego - Members of the "no chance" department.

    D'Backs over Brewers in 5
    Dodgers over Marlins in 3
    Dodgers over D'Backs in 6

Dodgers over Yankees in 7 games in the World Series
    MVP MVP: Wilson Betemit

    That is all.
I did a lot of good things as a sim league GM.

Ah, give me something clever to say here.

The only reason I did in this league was because Hammer corrupted the file and I wanted to try a different route. I was happy with my return, but a couple injuries and talent hits have hurt that. I ended up with Zimmerman out of that deal. He just recently gained talent and he's won 2 Gold Gloves. Pelfrey got hurt and lost talent...now he's in AAA. Gomez got hurt and lost talent as well, but he's still contributing in CF...he's just not the stud I hoped for. Oh well. I take risks and such despite some people's perception that I get the upper hand all the time...I've had many deals not work out how I would have liked. That's OOTP for you.

I traded Chavez, Haren, and Street in this league, too. I didn't just sit on my team. We sucked in 2008 after the trades, but bounced back with 20 more wins and an AL West crown. I didn't make any changes to this team and am hoping to get a little more consistency out of a few guys and that the younger guys improve more. We shall see.

I like what Prov did with his A's a lot... he's made a lot of solid moves and is in really good cap space.
