The handling of compensation picks and how they will get to the right team is simple... after the ammy draft, I will release the player from the original drafter (say, Detroit) and sign them to a MLC to the correct team (Boston). For the first round picks, I will fix the signing bonuses as well.

*sigh* 2nd year in a row that the person I really like is taken with the 1 pick I can't do anything about...

    Anyways...

With the 2nd pick in the 2008 MLB First Year Player Draft Kansas City Selects MR Javy Andino.

I had Anderson as #1 in this draft with about 3 others penciled in as tier 1b (still very good but not complete like Anderson) so I guess I am happy with Adino. He adds some quality depth in a pitching system that is looking healthier but not quite where I need it yet.

Houston Astros are now on the clock.

what about signing some old junk player to an MLC and just "trading rights" and fixing the money manually?

That would work. But what's the point if I'm going to be fixing the money manually regardless? It'd be just as much work, plus I'd have to release the minor league player assuming they wouldn't want them on their team.

Unless you guys think first round picks won't sign for MLC after being released. Then we may have to go about it that way. I will check all of this before the draft. All I know is, compensation will go about smoothly, I'll make sure of that.

You can also sign them, If they don't want the MLC you can always edit the contract.

i like the compensatory deal, nice work by the both of you. i forget who i let go(abe nunez, i think?), but it netted me a 16 year old prospect who definitely has upside... nice
