    6-5 SIM.... pretty disappointing....
still a 1 game lead over Minny in the AL Central

    Batting AVG: .295 (1st)
    Homeruns: 42 (T-12th)
    Walks: 112 (T-18th)
    Stolen Bases: 31 (20th)
    Runs Scored: 223 (3rd)

    Pitching ERA: 4.43 (15th)
    Opponents AVG: .274 (26th)
    HRs Allowed: 23 (T-2nd)
    Walks Allowed: 96 (2nd)
    Runs Allowed: 175 (10th)

Offense is doing like it is supposed to do and the bullpen is really doing it's job, where the starting rotation is holding in there... Zumaya, 14.1 scoreless innings to start the season, and zero blown saves

Monday 5/8/2008: Detroit's Ortiz wins Player of the Week award
The Player of the Week award in the American League goes to Detroit's David Ortiz this time, as the designated hitter displayed the best offensive perfomance in his league. David pounded opposing pitchers, hitting .467 with 3 HR and 9 RBI while slugging .900. Ortiz has walked 10 times this year and posts a .402 OBP. While batting .350, 41 for 117, he has driven in 27 runs. He's 5th in the American League in batting, 4th in homeruns and 7th in RBI!

    3 batters in the top 10 in BA, 2 in OB%, 3 in SLG%, 3 in OPS

Finally on top of the AL Central. Somehow I need to get my era down. I cant continue to give up over 4.5 runs a game. Yes I am leading the league in runs scored but I need to get the runs cut down one run a game.

I am going to look for some rp. I think I have a chance at winning it all, just need a piece or two.

    some nice surprises

Colby Moore is 3-0 2.51 era!!
    Scott Kazmir is 6-1
    Francisco Liriano 5-1
Wes Bankston 8 homers 22 rbis in less than 20 games played.

Bankston and Kazmir was the keys to the Santana deal, there both doing much better than expected.

Nothing new in KC. Besides we suck, only to be out done by Cincinnati.

    Top Hitter: Mitch Maier
    Top Baserunner: Joey Gaithright
Top Pitcher: Scott Dohmann, Justin Huisman, and Andy Sisco.

Everyone else sucks and need to escape career death that is KC. All are eligible for trade.

This team is such an old heap of shit. I still think I have a chance to win the division or wild card, but the fact that damn near everyone is underachieving is startling.

Except for Mark Melancon, who is the best god damn reliever in baseball. Oh yeah, and Derek Jeter is the man.

Tied for 1st...can't really complain with the best pitching staff (starters and relievers) in baseball and top 10 offense.

5-4 sim, only reason I'm winning the division right now cuz its so weak

    1-2 vs CHA
    2-1 vs FLA
    1-1 @ NYA

    Batting AVG: .272 (7th)
    Homeruns: 52 (12th)
    Walks: 157 (9th)
    Stolen Bases: 29 (26th)
    Runs Scored: 255 (3rd)

    Pitching ERA: 3.92 (6th)
    Opponents AVG: .255 (13th)
    HRs Allowed: 35 (5th)
    Walks Allowed: 130 (8th)
    Runs Allowed: 207 (8th)

team stats look fine but somehow my Starters are not winning the games they should be

3B Mark Teahen rules, before Spring training he was barely nothing as a player but then his talent just shot up, then recently his rating just went up too, and in his 1st game of the season hit a HR and drives in 5 RBI.

Fan Interest: 69/100 (14th), went up last time I noticed it, averaging 3,400 more fans than last season.

More changes are on their way so I'm hoping my team starts to pick it up more.

Thanks for nothing, Yadier Molina and your .123 AVG. Yet I have no choice but to start you...

First bad sim at 4-4. 3.5 games behind the red-hot Cubs in the NL Central.
I did a lot of good things as a sim league GM.

Ah, give me something clever to say here.

If you have an expiring, high priced free agent starting pitcher that you'd like to deal... I'm very interested. Wink, wink Ben Sheets, Chris Carpenter, Johan Santana.

Fair warning... if they hit free agency, they're as good as mine.
