Blue Jays set pitching staff to start 2010 season

The Toronto Blue Jays put the finishing touches on their pitching staff Thursday and will open the season with a starting five of Shaun Marcum, Brian Tallet, Ricky Romero, Brendon Morrow and Dana Eveland.

It is a rotation heavy with question marks. Marcum will be expected to be the club's ace although he did not throw an inning in the majors in 2009 while recovering from Tommy John surgery. The 28-year-old was up-and-down this spring compiling a 1-1 record with an 8.10 ERA (9 ER, 3 BB and 6K).

Following Marcum, the post-Roy Halladay starting staff will feature three lefties in Tallet, Romero and Eveland along with hard-throwing right-hander Morrow.

Its going to be a long year, but at least there's a plan to look forward to. The last couple years its been sad to watch the team lose without heading in any specific direction.

McGowan got shut down for 2 weeks with arm fatigue about a week ago

another pitcher in the rotation mix was Marc Rzepczynski who was injured for 6 weeks with a broken finger

I don't question any more rotations after Texas won 87 games last year. I don't quite remember who was in their opening day rotation but I remember it being absolute garbage.

.466 = 75 win season

I think that's a fair over/under, I'm thinking under.

Texas also has a Top-5 offense, Toronto does not.

And that was with veteran guys like A.J. Burnett, Ted Lilly, etc. Now, not so much. It's going to be rough.

Feldman had a huge season, and like said before the Ranger offense is from another planet.

Scott Richmond and Jesse Litsch are also on the DL as well at the moment. I know they aren't the top names of the rotation, there are 2 players that have won games for the Jays in the past two seasons.

Also, I look for Brett Cecil to become a starter at some point in the season, cause I see a multitude of changes coming, be they injury related, or because some players just plan old suck.
