Jays Sign John Gibbons To Contract Extension

The Toronto Blue Jays and their skipper have agreed to a US$650,000, one-year contract extension for the 2008 season, a source with knowledge of the talks said Monday. Only final details remained to be ironed out before the team officially announced the vote of confidence for Gibbons.

This really doesn't mean a whole lot. Doesn't change the fact that he needs to get this team to produce. Otherwise he just got himself a severance package.
