    Blue Jays Jays sign cather Phillips

    TORONTO -- The Blue Jays have agreed to terms on a one-year, $500,000 contract with catcher Jason Phillips. As part of the deal, Phillips could potentially earn another $50,000 in incentives for plate appearances.

    Phillips was decently good last season, and at best he's a back up catcher/1B, which would be his role this season.

    I guess he would be a nice backup at C/1B. He could also DH at times to get at bats in, plus PH especially in interleague games.
