i'm not sold on this deal..........peavy is CLEARLY the best player in the deal BY FAR, and it's more quantity than quality.

Hosmer is good, but not stellar. He's also very far from being ready. And he's the best piece in that deal by far. Tazawa is nice, but he hasn't pitched very well in the little time he's had, and he's filled out, so it's not like he's gonna get any better.

I'd argue that Martines and Santos are likely starters, decent ones at that, when they fill out if they fill out. But I do agree it's more quantity than quality cause none of those guys, maxed out, are great players.

If you guys want to fail it, I'm down with that, but it just looks bad for me to fail it since I was really wanting the same player.

Leo, I'm open to moving any of my prospects except Santana. I have young pitching I can deal, and I have Lars Anderson who's not even 25 yet I can move, if you move Gonzalez. I think I could have easily topped what you settled for.

Not many high control SPs turn out to be Aces... that said, who knows what Tazawa will do. Hosmer is an underdeveloped power hitting process. (2 contact vs LHP and 2 eye against both at 22) Martinez is underdeveloped with 3 contact against RHP and 3 eye agaisnt both at age 23. DeLosSantos could be a starting Catcher. Kaczor is shit without a talent boost. The 2nd rounder could be decent in this years draft.

For me, if Tazawa had one good MLB season under his belt with a sub 4 ERA, I believe I'd pass it, but based on his AAA #s over two seasons, he will never be better than a #3 SP.

That is NOT good enough for 4-5 years of Jake Peavy. I need one GOOD Stud to go with Hosmer. The fluff that the other players are really doesn't matter to me.

Just one guys opinion though. The 2,3,4 specs likely would do it for me especially #2.

My thought process was that I was getting an already filled out SP and I was focusing too much on Hosmer's talent.

I would really like to deal Jake for my future, but the problem is nobody wants to deal their top talent for the league's top pitcher.
