Thread: Trade: CH(A)/MIL (vote count: 2-3)

    Re: Trade: CH(A)/MIL

I do not understand how we can veto this deal. This is by no means a bad deal for either side. If we are so afraid to let new GM's trade there should be a rule implemented that prevents them from trading. Our job is to make sure deals are not horrible not to baby new GMs. Plus, this GM is NYGF's brother and GF helped him.

Yes Braun is a great player, but MIL is getting a great catching prospect who is pretty well developed and still just 24 (won't turn 25 until next season). In addition the 1B prospect is pretty solid as well. By rejecting this trade we are being way way too strict.

    That's how you learn.
I'd be fine with it if I thought this trade was just slightly unbalanced. If a GM is experienced, then I'll give them the benefit of the doubt in most cases.

I don't like the trade, but I don't think its bad enough to fail. I think that Braun will continue being dominant, and I think that those 3 prospects will be decent-good players, but no Braun. I'll pass it, but I see Milwaukee getting ripped off.

I thought the first version of the LAA/NAT trade was better than this one. That trade got out of hand once Marrero entered the picture though. Braun is a great player that is only 26, and signed to a very cheap $6Mil deal for 6 more years. Milwaukee is getting a good catching spect that is 24, and may not even fill out to his potential. the other two players aren't bad. Braun is the type of player that you build a franchise around, he is young, has great ratings, and is cheap. I just don't think this is enough for a player of that caliber. As I said twice in this thread already, I wouldn't like the trade whether it was an experienced GM or not. Experience is a factor that we usually look at in other Trade Councils though. Whether it is something that GF and LJ feel should be considered in this league is to be determined. I don't feel it is a factor in this trade though, either way.

    how is 7-7-10-9-6 "decent"?

on another note, while i personally don't think experience should be that big of a factor, sometimes it does turn out to be the deciding factor on an iffy deal involving an experienced GM, who I will give the benefit of the doubt

4-5-7-8-4 out of 7-7-10-9-6. Yeah, he's real close.

And the biggest point is being missed, why deal a guy like Braun for a package like that? What's the benefit here? We all know none of you guys would do this deal if you're Milwaukee. And you're full of shit if you say you would.

Sure, with a little brotherly help he could.

I agree, it isn't a huge factor, but if your on the fence, then that might be what pushes you one way or the other.

7-7-10-9-6 is good, I just have a lot of doubts that he will fill out considering he is 4-5-7-8-4 at the age of 24.

Let's face it, this deal would have been a straight fail if it wasn't your brother.

actually, no, i feel like it's a pretty even trade IMO. him being my brother has nothing to do with it. if i REALLY wanted to be biased, i'd fail it and help him get more outta braun

plus i refused to vote. looks to me like i'm being pretty impartial here

side note: deal's best of 7 now that we have a differing of opinions
