I'm sad to see Boatman go since he was only a 3.5 spec when I traded for him and he's performed so well for me (2017 RotY, 29 - 11 career record with a 3.53 ERA). My hope is that the slightly more talented Rodney, Jr. eventually fills out.

Yea, he must have lost talent with you and then he boosted shortly after the trade thankfully since Barton exploded production-wise for you.

I was kinda getting impatient with Rodney Jr... taking forever to develop. Seems like I've had him for like 10 seasons. It was only 4, but seemed longer. Boatman combined with Albano and Hysell gives me a nice young front 3... Wally West sucks, and I'll have to replace Willis with a veteran next season when his 12 million comes off the books. Wouldn't mind bringing him back as a 5th starter on the cheap... depends how much he wants.

I'm sure he'll get a contract somewhere. I'm gonna try to extend him, if reasonable. He hasn't been great in Oakland, but he's pitched well enough where he won't get passed up. His durability has been phenomenal. He is on pace for his 14th straight season over 220 IP.

he's been developing a little better for me since his promotion to AAA. He was 5,5,6 IIRC when I got him and now he's 7,6,8. Colton is getting there as well at 7,5,10.

At the rate Rodney was developing for me, he would have been ready when he was 28. I had him in A ball for like 3 1/2 seasons.
