Very happy with my 2 picks in the 1st round. Got a great starter, and a great closer for the future to anchor my rotation. They have a long way to go though.

actually 2 5.0 relievers, and i got rid of a pitcher who was killing me. he lost talent about 3 or 4 times, and prov was nice to me, but he wasn't gonna fix him again, and i don't blame him.

i traded away a starter who had a career 6.48 ERA for me. it was a good call.

I'm with Zito...you gotta have patience with young SPs
I did a lot of good things as a sim league GM.

Ah, give me something clever to say here.

Yeah, god forbid every early 20 something is immediately the next Doc Gooden or TSSL Rich Harden. Wooooosh.

hey, Harden has been a stud since the league started. I know he didn't always gets the wins he deserved early on, but his numbers have been consistent. He took a hit at the end of last season and I fully expect him to take more hits this year. Aging is set to -85% so it has been slowed, but I see 34, 35 year old SPs delivering in Mission's league so some guys are blessed and some aren't I guess. I concur though...you have to be patient.

I think BJD called up Butler and Knipp too early...when I trade for them, I was patient and they paid off. Butler wasn't very good his first year, but then he filled out and started performing. I left Knipp at AAA to fill out and he did well, too.

DMB, any thoughts on the Family Guy draft class that you were so excited for?

eh, nothing left got me too excited, but I'll take a 5.0 SP in Ponce. Not a huge fan, but nothing else really bowled me over. I thought about taking the next closer, but I've got young relievers on my MLB team and a good amount in the minors. I'm sure I'll get another reliever with my 2nd or 3rd pick.

I think it's FANTASTIC! I really wanted Adam West just to say I had Adam West. I'm glad I didn't wind up with Meg. I'm not sure if it was a personal touch or not, but I liked how Stewie had minimal loyalty. I could be over looking him, but is Rupert in there?

I used a few personal touches with some of them. Lois and Brian being loyal and strong leaders for example. No, I didn't put Rupert. I guess I could have put "Rupert the Bear" or something, but he's a toy, not really a character. I put the majority of the characters though...even some obscure ones like the Campbells who were only in for a couple episodes.

    Re: 2017 Amateur Draft Discussion

Didn't really want to take another closer, but he was the best player available and none of the other ones left excited me all that much.

All well, two really good prospective closers in my system now. (3 if Best decides to fill out this year.)

On a side note, I like how Cleveland Brown Jr is only a year younger than Cleveland Brown.

Cleveland didn't take long to get busy out of the womb, eh?

(I realize the age difference couldn't be realistic for obvious reasons, but it's still funny.)

yea, that is the guy I was thinking of taking Hollywood. He just wasn't a knockout a closer spec to me so I thought I'd take the SP and hope he boosts. Regardless, if both filled out they would just be pieces (4th/5th starter...maybe 3rd vs. middle reliever / setup reliever).

He could make a really good set up man if he and Blinken-Smythe both fill out.
