Question 40 Man Rosters and Rule 5 Draft?

Ok....what do you guys think? Do you want to use the 40 man rosters and the rule 5 draft option? This is your chance to let your voice be heard and express your opinions on each one. We could start using them at the beginning of next season, so let us know what you think.

Maybe, but if you do that, you need to stop over stocking drafts and free agency.

I like the idea. The only thing is you will have to go over Rule 5 draft rules, because they are complicated and I don't really know them all. You have no idea how pissed i'd be to lose my #1 spec to Rule 5 because I didn't know the rules. Also, how would we know who's Rule 5 eligible? I know it tells you in the game in the Transactions page, but how would those without the game know?

Re: 40 Man Rosters and Rule 5 Draft?

A player has to have a certain amount of pro experience to be eligible. So a guy you just draft, would not qualify and you would not need to protect him. I was thinking it was 3 to 5 years, something like that.

Yep, this is the last season we're doing the stocked draft and free agency. i just wanted to get the league built up since we were shallow in so many areas.

I think if he's on the 40 man roster, he's safe.

I'm game for whatever you wanna try out, just make sure you go over the rules beforehand.

yep, just put everyone that you want to protect on your 40 man roster. One reason I like the idea of adding these options is that we will learn even more about how things like the rule 5 draft work, and make you feel like a real MLB GM.
