2017 GM / Contraction Check-In (Deadline Sunday 6/29 12PM EDT)

The deadline to check-in is Sunday 6/29 at 12PM EDT. If you do not check-in, you risk contraction. If you don't want to be in this league anymore, then just say so in this thread or PM me. I want active GMs. If you don't have the time, energy, desire, or whatever, then just tell me. I'd much rather have a smaller league of very active teams. It will be more competitive and easier to run. I think it will be more fun.

Once you check-in, your team and name will be removed from the list. Teams with no GM listed are open and eligible for contraction.

well, Dam is MIA and unless someone fills them, the team will be gone. I haven't decided exactly what to do yet, but I don't think a contraction draft with teams having to take on the contracts would work really. A draft for prospects would work easily. I think I'd have to put all the MLB players into the FA pool and let it work itself out that way.

Ya that would be best I think. Couldn't you add the specs back into the ammy draft pool? or is that impossible with the games mechanics?

I think all it would let me do is release them...we would hold a draft before the season started using the same order. I then probably wouldn't make the true amateur draft as deep. I'd have to take a look at all the prospects on the teams that would be contracted to be honest though.

I have a question: how come you're contracting even though in your poll, contraction only got 2 votes and computer managing got 10? doesn't that kind of defeat the purpose of that whole poll?

I think the realization of an empty team winning the WS pushed contraction forward as the most realistic option.
