So, how did it feel to be all George Steinbrennery in the offseason?

I'd rather be refered to a The Crafty Theo Epstein that will bring the Trophy home in 2009.

Wouldn't look good if you missed the playoffs, Ms. Cashman.

    22 million for 7 years isn't crafty.

Neither is the Ozzie Smith contract.

It will be when they bring me the championship.

Plus there were other owners willing to shell out 20 million for per year for Tex. I really needed him as I only had Chip Cannon at 1B.

As for Ozzie Smith, I think for a pretty good lead off hitter and good defensive SS 7 million isn't that bad. And I only had Porfirio Gonzalez who is really only a DH that would probably had to be my SS.

I'd much rather pay what I paid for Tex and the quality of player he is then what was paid for Dunn. People are just bitter because he is not on your team and he is on mine. Mwhahahahahahahahaha

I would too, but you paid through the roof for Tiex when I thought I was trying to pay through the roof for him.

I was...but I think you miss the "financially crippling" part. Your team finished worse than mine last year...

I'd be worried about my starters after how they performed last year if I were you...plus you have Crazy in your division, it's going to be real hard for you to make the playoffs.

I don't think crafty is defined as a spending spree.

Yep, there were about 5 or 7 teams that offered Tex $20 plus.
