    Re: 2009 Random Rumblings

6-4 sim with a sweep of CSKA

2 games up in the Ruth division

    Batting AVG: .277 (1st)
    Homeruns: 83 (T-5th)
    Walks: 245 (5th)

    Stolen Bases: 63 (23rd)
    Runs Scored: 397 (1st)

    Pitching ERA: 4.57 (23rd)
    Opponents AVG: .259 (19th)
    HRs Allowed: 51 (4th)
    Walks Allowed: 222 (20th)
    Runs Allowed: 345 (T-17th)

no. 1 offense in the league

Justin Morneau is 4 days away from returning to the lineup after being injured for 6-7 weeks, and the weird thing he's still tied for 5th in HR in the AL league with 14 HR

soon I'll have a murders row with Justin Morneau, Josh Hamilton, Todd Helton, and rookie Matt Cedar :evil laugh: (although Helton not much what he used to be, he still walks a ton and brings in the runs)

only thing I don't have is a right-handed big power hitter, although I have Tracy and Jose Guillen (although I never use jose)

Brad Nelson is another big power left-handed hitter that recently developed in to one that could be used but with Morneau coming back I might not have room for him, might be stuck on my bench

LF Skip Schumaker is leading the AL league in average with .352 (2nd in the majors)

old timer Jeff Suppan is leading my team in wins with 7

was thinking of converting Ryan Dempster into a starter but the 3-5 starters have been good

Yovani Gallardo continuing to struggles, may need to replace him or at least bump him down the rotation

Why did you give up on Adam Jones, porter? He's like, 23 or something and above talent... 6-7-10 with speed is pretty solid. Players can easily regain talent, Phil Hughes did in tpsl..

I need more power.. captain? I have a leadoff man batting cleanup and a #2 hitting 5th. God.

Pitching is horrible, Zito gone hurts in more ways than one. At least Cueto returns.

Vegas report, 7-3 over the last 10 games. Only 6 games out of first and 3 out of 2nd. We started off terrible but things are getting better of late. Still 30th in runs scored and 30th in runs allowed. But at least things are changing for the better.

2nd best record overall, but only 2nd in my division. We're also playing above our Pythagorean record, but oh well...better than being negative.

    Batting AVG: .250 (25th)
    Homeruns: 59 (24th)
    Walks: 221 (16th)
    Stolen Bases: 45 (28th)
    Runs Scored: 336 (16th)

    Pitching ERA: 4.21 (12th)
    Opponents AVG: .252 (11th)
    HRs Allowed: 79 (27th)
    Walks Allowed: 221 (19th)
    Runs Allowed: 324 (12th)

not much else to report I suppose. Pete Rose, Vida Blue, Max Scherzer, and Eckersley are having terrific seasons.

How can you have the second best record with those stats? Doesn't make sense.

I don't know...we're 14 - 8 in 1-run games. 21 - 15 at home, 23 - 13 on the road. 10 - 5 vs. LHP, 34 - 23 vs. RHP. Maybe we lose blowouts and our wins are closer? How the hell was I -13 in SBSL with a top 10 pitching staff and almost a top 10 offense? OOTP is friggin' random sometimes.

Another 5-5 SIM last night. And still the same issues with not much in CF although the move of Ryan Sweeney to CF wasn't a bad move. And at least Brian Stavinsky porved a bit that he can be serviceable at the Major league level. Still Jeff Francouer and Kevin Gregg are my biggest issues.

    Re: 2009 Random Rumblings

5-5, the team is back to 2nd place in the divison. My loser pitcher Mathieson finally isn't a loser anymore after adding 2 wins to his record column. He currently is 2-8. I replaced Pedro Martinez with rookie Will Inman. I could say Inman didn't do bad. I'm getting Martinez back in the line up for next sim, anyway. He has only a few days left for his return. That is the most needed agenda for the Fightin' Cajuns.

The offense was simply flat, I guess. Low scoring games and such. Do I need to say more about this? By the way, I made this team more enjoyable. Ranked 3rd in Fan Interest (86/100), it was ranked about 8th last sim.

should be a good race for us unless my team starts playing like they're supposed to. then the WC is all yours. I wasn't expecting to win at ALL this season, and here we are. Well, looks like my philosophy is gonna change.

Just wait until my future rotation of Jeffress, Bailey, Bartz, Booty, and McGowan start to dominate. Then i'll really expect to win.

    there is no Wild Card...

assuming everyone panned out, which they don't...I'd have:

    Blue
    Scherzer
    Hook
    ????

Eck, Vaughn, Casilla, and Cox in the pen...

crap, forgot that there's no WC. O well, looks like we're sunk yet again due to a difficult division. I love how everyone in our division is above .500 and everyone in the Mays is at or below .500. So stupid.
