Question Opinions please: COL - CIN

    Colorado trades:

    Steve Reece-3B, 5.0 prospect, MLC
    Ernest Fisher-MR, 5.0 prospect, MLC
    Wayne Irons-MR, 5.0 prospect, MLC
John Lundeen-SP, 4.5 prospect, MLC (pending from Boston)
    Evan Longoria-3B, 2.5, $ 3,590,000
    Matt Farnum-MR, 3.0, $ 2,500,000
    2017 first round draft pick

    Subtotal: $ 6,090,000

    Cincinnati trades:

    Kenneth "Butch" Creek-SP, 4.0, $ 2,792,857
    Brad Lincoln-SP, 3.0, $ 4,950,000
    Cesar Carillo-SP, 2.0, $ 4,650,000

    Subtotal: $ 12,392,857

Personally, I think it's crap and O's is trying to take a n00b. Creek is the best piece with Lincoln (even though under-performing) being the 2nd best piece. Obviously, I'd make damn sure the pick was a stud even though it will be low. 1 reliever spec is garbage, 1 is good, the 3B spec is weak, the SP isn't likely to develop, and Farnum is crap. This trade blows...thoughts?

any other opinions? I PMed them telling them it was a fail, but I just want to make sure I'm not off-base here. I don't think COL has the pieces to get Creek. His minor league system is pretty weak. And I'll be damned if I'm going to let a team that finally has a GM get fleeced.

This trade is a joke. O's is trying to sell off the players that nobody else wanted to a noob for a great starting pitcher. We've already seen browntown take advantage of BuckFoston. Enough of this shit.

the funny part is CJ said he ran it by BWitty (recruited CJ, friends I believe) and he said it was fine...and CJ keeps trying to talk me into it.

I said there is no reason for him to take the two dumps (Longoria, Farnum) and if O's added Hegstrand 5.0 spec that it would be closer, but that he's still not getting anything that would turn into what he's giving up if they developed...he's giving up the 2 best pieces regardless.

Yeah I'd say fail on this as well. The raw ratings on those guys aren't terrible but a couple of them are pretty close to not being prospects anymore.
