Verlander won't hurt me at all by trading him. I needed a guy that can get on base and steal me a bunch of bases. Soriano just turned 32 so I would guess I have 4 or 5 more productive years left. My pitching staff is still loaded and quite good. My club lacks good hitters hence the deal.

Why would a GM turn down Rasmus or Dukes and then add a 3B to get Soriano. Rasmus and Dukes are 3 8's and 3 9's respectively in the speed department.

Am I that hard to deal with?

Maui dumped a 32 year old OOTP underachiever for a 25 year old STUD SP. and a 3B. This is my reaction:

Hey OM, its a game my friend. I dont like to deal with guys like you because if you don't get your way your cry about it. Also I was ONLY dealing one sp not TWO as you wanted.

Watch how many times Dukes and Rasmus strikes out. They will K combined close to 300 times with a batting average of under .250. That's why I passed on the offer. You want to ***** about things pm me not make things public.

TWO???? I offered your pick of Rasmus or Dukes for Bonderman straight up. No one is crying. This is amazement. We never even talked about Verlander because you stated that you could get more than Dukes or Rasmus. The only reason I passed this trade is because you are a vet GM and deserve to get what you ask for.

Let's do this, at the end of the season, lets compare the stats of Dukes/Rasmus/Soriano... If Soriano is significantly better, I will publicly apologize.

    I wish you well.

With a huge smiley grin after it indicating the lack of seriousness of the statement. There was much more conversation about 1 for 1 and that is what I responded to when you said you thought you could get more. I even paraphrased and said so you think you can get more than (either Dukes or Rasmus) for Bonderman??? You said yes and I wished you Good Luck in your search.

You turned down a one for one deal. I don't have a problem with that at all. It is just my humble opinion that you did not get a better offer in this Soriano trade at all.. in fact in 2 years when Soriano is 34 or 35... it will be readily apparent.

I do wish you the best. I don't have any hard feelings at all. I still have my stud OF specs. This is just me wondering where the logic is...
