Bottom Line:
This is the best team the Cubbies have fielded since the 2008 squad that made the World Series. Weddo last year despite missing the first few sims to fill out in AAA broke the record for steals in a season with 136. BJ Upton added 50 SB's of his own to go with 23 homers. Cubbies got the prize of free agency and he's batting in three hole in David Wright. Jonny Gomes having filled out to 6 contact is coming off a good year of .294 BA with with 26 homers. Once Gary Spruell fills out the Cubbies could be very deadly 1-5 with still a huge bat in the 6 hole with the Helton/Ulrich platoon at 1B.

If these people play to their ratings offensively the Cubbies shall be very good. Add in the fact two HUGE arms to the pen to go with Kawakami and Jenks and you have the best pen in the national league perhaps. The starting rotation still has it's two aces with talented 3-5 pitchers who have under performed in the past. All in all though this Cubs team could make a run deep in the playoffs. It's just a matter of surviving the brutal NL Central.
