I dunno...after all the times he said he'd never trade McCarthy, he trades him for 1 5.0 spec that is not too far away, but not all that close and hasn't done shit in the minors outside of his 1st year in A ball...I think I'm going to fail. Dam should get a little something else considering McCarthy can still fill out more...FAIL

Gallardo has made no positive production since the league started(I was intrested in him when I still had Jason Bay, and that was his line.) I know the firesale idea, but solid young pitcher for not as solid young pitcher that hasn't been devloping doesn't make sense to me.

Um... Its not like Brandon McCarthy has been Mark Prior or Johan Santana either. He has 1 above average year. And he's the ONLY guy Dam would even look at from my farm. Also I could possibly lose McCarthy if I were to not get a deal done and need to use him for the full season.

i honestly wasnt overly impressed with mccarthy when i offered up to dam for him, at least his statistical output. i just figured my park could turn him around. on the other side of that however, i question whether gallardo will get to his talent, at 23... 24 in another 7 days... with fairly bad seasons behind him. to boot, hes had 4 dl stints (if hes in the majors) in the past 2 seasons in the minors. i do believe he could get more for mccarthy... but not much. i think this is the best talent he could get for him, but only because of his previous seasons in the minors. ill pass, but i think its on its way to failing, so id like to see a 2nd round pick or a b level spect to chicago in the redux.

Before I vote on this trade, I have to say that if we're going to label Gallardo as a bust, then I doubt that adding a 2nd round pick or a B level spec toward Dam's way will change my mind.
