the money he already dished out in offers already, is subtracted to equal what is now on his page.

We'll see. Let's just say I haven't put in my max offer yet, and plan to for the next sim.

Oswalt will go for more than Carpenter and Edmonds combined...I'd bet my life on it. Someone will pay $20 mil per season...Carp and Edmonds for this year will cost $18 mil and then $7 mil next year as Edmonds will be gone. If someone takes Edmonds with Carpenter, I would only want one semi-close 5.0 star spec. If no one takes Edmonds, then I would require a similar type package that Sheets got (slightly less as Carpenter is 2 years older, but he's also cheaper than Sheets).

I exported my offers, did they get put in? I only ask because I have no comments from any of the players that I made offers to...

But what he costs in money, he saves in talent.

talent that may never develop...you save money and get basically the same pitcher. You give up a spec. And it appears he won't get Oswalt anyway so he doesn't get anything at all unless he (or whoever doesn't get Oswalt) makes a trade. He's got a boatload of specs...he's not like you clinging to your one pitching spec because that's all you got. He could afford to take a chance if he wanted to. It's obviously his choice...spend way too much money for Oswalt, get out bid for Oswalt, or make a trade for a cheaper pitcher and give up a spec that may or may not develop. Carpenter would help a team right now unlike a spec.

I think Toronto meant 860k per for 3 years for Romero, a hunch.

In happier news, my IF is now pretty stacked, I have several legit OFs (Shannon Stewart made it to go with Crisp, Rowand, and Pena). I got a backup catcher to stash in the minors.

In other news, Florida's a ***** for signing Paul Wilson away from me.

    Now, to find some pitching

look no further than the reigning NL Cy Young Award winner from 2005 and 2006...he's better than anything you have targeted since you're not after Oswalt you said...and you've got the finances to make it happen...it's all in your hands...or are you going to let another AL team steal him from you?

    I hope so.
Only because I know my offer was a lot more than 860k =)

Mission cornered the market on P.Wilsons.

Jered Weaver, who is less talented and was less developed than McCarthy at the time he was traded, brought in Chase Utley. I'm not "clinging" to anything so much as wanting equal value for McCarthy according to the established market for pitching prospects. If I can't get that, I'd rather spend a little money (which I have) than give up McCarthy for less than established market value.

If you beat my counter offer, you deserve him... my next offer is as high as I'm going. I wouldn't go that high, but I think he puts me in a position to win the world series.
