Yet another trade rules reminder thread, please read.

First off, the hint is, do not constantly bother trade council members on how a deal is going. I do not mind if you ask me once on whether a deal is close to being passed or not, but for continuous pestering.. chill out

    TRADES:
    They are sent to me.

Use this format to send deals in, I will not accept and post them otherwise.

    Team A sends:
position; player's full name(no need for middle or nicknames smartasses ); number of stars and if it's a prospect, point that out; salary (just what he makes per year, not total)
Salary total: use your calculator and add salary up

    Team B sends:
position; player's full name(no need for middle or nicknames smartasses ); number of stars and if it's a prospect, point that out; salary (just what he makes per year, not total)
Salary total: use your calculator and add salary up

    Which might look something like:

    Anaheim trades:
    1B Rod Carew, 3.5 stars, 6.5 million
CF Jim Edmonds, 3 stars, 10 million
SP Mark Langston, 4.5 star prospect, 300k
    Total: 16.8mill

    Boston trades:
SS Nomar Garciaparra, 4 stars, 9.9 million
SP Paxton Crawford, 5 star prospect, MLC
MR Rich Garces, 2.5 stars, 2 million
    Total: 11.9mill

If there's only one player on each side that makes money, you do not have to list a salary total.

Pay attention to your financial state. If $$ left for free agents runs out, you cannot take on any salary. If you only have 5 million available, you cannot take on more than 5 million in salary. Deals will be voided.

Everything concerning trading should be in FAQ thread in the general section. Please read that if you haven't. Thanks, much appreciated, keep on truckin'

Can we stick this? Still alot of trades coming in with incorrect format.

It's, sadly, already stickied on the main forum, but what the hell

And FWIW, I'm quite willing to veto trades with poor formatting or the wrong info, along with ones that flat out violate the money rules

At least you're willing to fail something.

Was there a fair vote on the Santana to Milwaukee trade, considering you pushed for Raphictor to make the trade and General hates twinsfan?

I merely stated he should trade for the third coming of Jesus. I don't think anyone voted fail on that deal.

    EDIT:
The first four who voted passed it. I don't know what redsfan, dam or fisher thought about it, though.

FWIW, on the Santana deal, while I think I like it for Milwaukee, it would not have been worthy of a veto from me. Santana's amazing, but Hardy and Lee are young, starting capable players (above average to boot), Rogers is nice and Eveland's not bad.

That pretty much sums up my thoughts on the deal.

Did you feel that it was something that needed to be vetoed, Mofo? I won't see it as an attack, just wondering.

Nothing, I just raised my suspicions with my above post. However, I'm bumping this thread because I want to ask if I trade for or away a player, does his entire salary for the current year carry over to his new team or only the remainder portion of it?

Remaining portion for the current season and full amount for subsequent seasons (if applicable). You are also responsible for any extensions that were signed too.

    Good bump.

Cause. I am going to stop reminding parties to send deals in. Actually I am, today is the last day I do so. Make sure the team you trade with does send the deal in... TO ME! Maybe you can ask later if they ever sent the deal in, cause I'm tired of repeating myself. Ahem, nick. ;]

Also because the rate of people not sending deals in has inflated two-fold lately. It's a disturbing trend.

if you're referring to a deal I sent in, the other person hasn't been online since...so give him a chance to come on and send it in. I made a proposal, he countered, I accepted it, and sent it in...he hasn't been on since then...forgiveness please
