Because Tubby Smith is no good at developing NBA talent. Simple as that. I don't mind UK, but it's just how it goes.

Then why would he go to any college team?
Because of the new age limit. The age limit might end up being good, but it's going to lead to an incredible amount of one and done's. Going to tick off some of the college basketball purists..

He can JUCO for a couple of years or go play in Europe. He doesn't HAVE to go to college.

Where did I say he HAS to go to college? Europe and JuCo are not realistic options for the #1 and #2 players in the country. They will go to Kansas State for 1 year, then enter the NBA.

According to UL fans I've talked to, Mayo and Walker probably aren't on UL's radar. Pitino has lost contact with them in recent years.

They probably won't go to UK either. I don't think Tubby's defensive style will suit them well. I also doubt they go to K-State. They stated over the last couple of days that they weren't sure they wanted to go to school like state which is still "raw."

Homer: We're proud of you, boy.

Bart: Thanks, Dad. But part of this D-minus belongs to God.

K-State is in a power conference and will be chock full of talent by the time Mayo and Walker go there.
