BREAKING NEWS: NFL Owners Approve new Collective Bargaining Agreement

NFL owners have approved a six-year extension of the collective bargaining agreement by a vote of 30-2 Wednesday night.

Buffalo and Cincinnati were the two teams to vote against the proposal, according to ESPN's Chris Mortensen.

ESPNEWS reports that Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones briefly left the owners' meeting shortly before the 8 p.m. deadline the owners set to decide on the extension and told the waiting throng of reporters that owners were "getting close, getting close," but that it would take about "30 minutes" before anything was known. Jones did not offer any other details.

Earlier Wednesday, the NFL moved back the waiver deadline for teams to get below the salary cap from 9 p.m. ET Wednesday to 11 p.m. ET.

Free agency is set to begin at 12:01 a.m. ET Thursday.

Apparently, the vote went 30-2, with the two owners voting against being Cincinnati and Buffalo. WTF? Why would the Bengals be against the cap? That's the whole reason why they are competitive. What a douchebag that owner is.

They were against the low revenue sharing rates, asshole.

    What General said.

Voting down the proposed agreement for owners would have had nothing to do wth the cap or not; all they were trying to work out since the start of today was revenue sharing between owners.

Buffalo and Cincy are smaller markets and don't get as much from revenue sharing, so they had reason to say no.

well, Ralph Wilson (bills owner) said he voted against it because he didnt understand the deal. he sounded confused in the interview room. of course, he is like 800 years old, so that may have something to do with it.

Im actually surprised that it was 30-2. i figured it would be something like 26-6 or 25-7.

    Well...
    ...

The Bengals owner is competent, and I'm sure that's why he voted against it.

Who saw the interview with Al Davis? What is wrong with him? It is like the evil is decaying away at his skin.

I guess I should have mentioned I was borrowing a line from Monty Python and being a bit sarcastic. No I never believed that NFL would kill the golden goose, Daniel Snyder and JJ probably would love to strangle it if it meant rings, but that goose is more closely guarded than the President.
