That trade makes no sense. The Senators just signed Hossa to a 3 year extension.

OTTAWA (AP) -- The Ottawa Senators avoided salary arbitration with Marian Hossa by signing the forward to an $18-million, three-year contract Tuesday.

Probably as rare as Chris Osgood being claimed off waivers.

The Senators signed Hossa to a below market deal, so it leads me to believe that the team owner is a cheapskate.

others who are between 6-7.8 million (salaries decresed from the new CBA)

I'd take Hossa over all the players except maybe Lidstrom on your second list.

    Tampa needs a goalie, right?

If Heatley signed for only 13.5 mill, then you have to wonder why Atlanta traded Heatley, who's younger, cheaper, and has a bigger upside than Hossa, even though it cost the Senators its franchise player.

Heatley's eye (from puck in the eye in europe) and knee (the synder accident) injuries could have have scared off ATL, also I'm hearing heatley wanted a fresh start else where

I don't even like hockey, but I am pissed Atlanta traded off Heatley.
